I asked Sarah to tell us a little bit about her and Andrew’s wedding in the beautiful Bay of Islands.
Where was it? At the Waimate North Church followed by the Reception at The Copthorne Hotel, Bay Of Islands.
Theme or style: Our colour theme was white, gold and orange, traditional and romantic
Brides Dress: Kate Dowman, also the pearls and flower in my hair. The flowers: White Lillies and Orange Roses – by my mother
Hair: Haana Baker, KeriKeri Makeup: Rebecca Young – Essentially Young Beauty Therapy, Auckland
Groom/Groomsmen: Frank Casey Suit Hire The Cake: Chocolate Mudcake and Fruitcake for top layer – by a family friend Invitations & Stationery: Graffic Affair Food & Drink: Copthorne Hotel, Soho Wines The Honeymoon: Los Cabos , Mexico
“The whole day was amazing but if I had to pick one moment it would be heading out on the boat and relaxing with our wedding party as a newly married couple. The Bay of Islands scenery was stunning.”
“ There are too many photos to choose just one favourite. But we love the black and white shots at the waterfall, the groups shots on the boat and the photos with our dog Baxter are very special!”

Here are a few shots from Amara and Jeremy’s gorgeous December wedding on the Tutukaka coast. After a rainy week the day turned out perfectly for their beach wedding. Great planning you two…even the pohutukawa tree came to the party with a spectacular display!

Deborah & Raymond booked me over a year ago to photograph their wedding in the beautiful Hokianga. They planned it all from their home in Sydney and everything came together perfectly on the day. I asked them to share some information about their day.
Where was it? Copthorne Hotel & Resort, Omapere, Hokianga Theme/Style: Apple Green & Paua Bridesmaids: DKNY Earrings, paua koru xmas decoration as a pendant hanging on a silver chain from Equip Groom/Groomsmen: Black suits from Ron Bennett, white shoes from Tarocash. Wedding Favours: Lime coloured/lime flavoured personalised rock candy printed with ‘Mr+Mrs’ placed inside a small kete with paua shell on the front. Cake: Made and decorated by Deb’s talented primary school bus driver Ivy Radcliffe. Best advice for planning a wedding: Reserve the venue early and arrange a menu tasting. Send out Save the Dates 12 months prior to your day. Memorable moment: Seeing my wife ‘to be’ walking down the aisle with her Dad.
Ray’s favourite photo from the day is this one of Deborah at the South Head Lookout and here’s a wee peek at their day.

There are many different ways to present your photos. Rather than just a group portrait for the wall, having a selection of your photographs preserved in an album shows so much more about you. It’s a slice of your lives together at a moment in time; the interaction and relationships of your family. All shot in a location that has meaning to you. Here are a few photos of Nichola and Aaron’s family story book album. It’s twenty pages of beautifully printed photographs bound into a 7×7 inch album. Have you ever considered having a story book album made of your family?

We’re so lucky here in NZ. All that beautiful bush and coastline. Around Whangarei we are particularly blessed in both of these areas. We even have Kauri trees right in town…….well practically! I know that I’m meant to have a photo of myself on my website, but hey, I’m camera shy. I’m far better behind the camera I assure you. However on a trip to the A H Reed Kauri Park the other day, I somehow ended up in a picture, so here it is. Our beautiful natural bush…….and me. To quote Anita, one of my clients, who sent me a photo of herself and fiance Richard, ”random, but always good to know what people look like.”
